The San Bernardino City Professional Firefighters, Local 891 takes great pride in supporting the nonprofit organizations in our area. A partial list of the community projects are listed here. We are glad to support any organization in our community that provides services to the citizens of San Bernardino City.
The Assistance League
– This year we continued our support for this worthy organization. They provide dental care for children that do not have access to a quality dentist.
The Soap Box Derby
– This year’s Soap Box Derby will be bigger and better then ever. This is a great sport for children and a fun day for the whole family!
The Inland Empire Community Newspapers
– This local newspaper produces the El Chicano, Colton Courier, and the Rialto Record. They focus on the Hispanic community in the Inland Empire.
San Bernardino and San Gorgonio High Schools sports calendars
– These activity calendars raise money for the sports programs at these local high schools.
The Candlelighters
– This organization supports children and their families that are affected by cancer. Their latest fundraiser was giving haircuts and selling calendars.
The Arrowhead Regional Medical Center Burn ward
– This year’s “Bowl with a Firefighter” raised over $5,000 for the burn ward.
Shop with a Firefighter
– This program provides a Christmas shopping spree for underprivileged children that may not have a Christmas without our help.
Thanksgiving Baskets
– Each year we provide complete Thanksgiving dinners for families in need.
